Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle. Each bottle is drawn from a single hand-selected barrel and is individually numbered.
It is named after Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee, who created Blanton's, the first commercial single-barrel bourbon, in 1984. The whiskey is made from Buffalo Trace's higher-rye mash bill #2 and aged in #4 char barrels.
The nose offers honey, vanilla, caramel and orange peel over light dusty oak. The palate brings butterscotch, brown sugar and vanilla cream with dried fruit and a gentle cinnamon-rye spice, followed by a medium-long, clean finish of warm spice and vanilla.
