A red wine from Eolia, made mainly from Nero d'Avola and Nocera on the Aeolian Islands.
Deep ruby in colour, it has a complex nose of ripe red fruits, cherry and plum, with aromatic herbs, liquorice and a light toast from brief ageing in barrique. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with balanced tannins and lively acidity, leaving a velvety, spicy finish.
It pairs with robust meat dishes, aged cheeses and mushroom dishes, and is best served at 18°C.
