Etter Kirsch Eau-de-Vie 1995 (70cl, 42%)

This is a vintage Swiss kirsch from Etter, distilled entirely from the 1995 cherry harvest around Zug. It is a clear cherry eau-de-vie, bottled at 42% in a 70cl bottle. After distilling, the spirit was matured for years in 50-litre glass demijohns rather than oak, so it stays crystal clear. The Etter family has distilled kirsch since 1870, and this bottling carries the character of a single cherry variety from a single year. The nose shows ripe mountain cherry with a delicate floral hint. On the palate it is broad and full of cherry, with a whisper of almond, and it finishes long, warming and harmonious.
