Evan Williams 1783 American Hero Edition is a straight Kentucky bourbon in a 1.75 litre bottle, bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof). It is a blend of small batch barrels from the Evan Williams 1783 line, matured in charred oak.
The edition belongs to the American-Made Heroes programme, an annual limited release honouring US veterans. Each year a group of honourees helps choose the barrels, and a portion of the proceeds from each bottle supports veteran-focused nonprofits.
Tasting notes describe caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak and baking spices on the nose, then caramel, toffee, oak spice and honeyed sweetness on the palate. The finish is warm, with soft oak, vanilla and gentle spice.
