Evan Williams 1783 is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The name marks the year Evan Williams founded Kentucky's first commercial distillery.
Each batch is drawn from 300 barrels or fewer, matured for 6 to 8 years in new charred American oak. The mash bill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye.
The nose is oaky vanilla, caramel and brown butter with cinnamon sugar and a touch of floral sweetness. The palate is semi-sweet, with honey, caramel, brown sugar, nutmeg and a gentle rye spice. The finish is warm, medium-long and off-dry, with oak tannins and honeyed warmth.
