Evan Williams 1783 is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Each release is drawn from fewer than 200 barrels aged between six and eight years. The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye, and the whisky is made by the sour mash method.
The nose combines oaky vanilla and butter with sweet corn, caramel and a hint of cherry. On the palate, honeyed oak meets cinnamon and black pepper, and the finish is lean and off-dry, with oak and a little baking spice.
