Evan Williams Single Barrel is a vintage-dated Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, bottled at 43.3% (86.6 proof) in a 75cl bottle. Each bottle comes from one charred American oak barrel.
The bourbon ages for around seven to eight years, from a mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley. Every label carries the date the whiskey went into the barrel, the year of bottling and the barrel number.
The nose is caramel and honey with toasted oak, vanilla and graham cracker. The palate opens with peppery rye, then caramel, vanilla and baking spices, with apple and orange peel. The finish is long, with sweet oak, dried fruit and brown sugar.
