Famous Grouse is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle, built around Highland malts. Malt whiskies from The Macallan and Highland Park are combined with grain whiskies and rested together in seasoned oak casks, sitting at 46% for up to six months before the strength is reduced for bottling.
The nose brings candied fruit, buttery shortbread, citrus peel and soft melon, with a faint thread of smoke. The palate is gentle and honeyed, with brighter fruit at the middle and a little peat and herbal character. The finish is medium in length, with honey and a trace of dry smoke.
