Famous Grouse is a Highland blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 1.75 litre bottle. Its malt backbone comes from Highland Park and The Glenrothes, matured in former sherry and bourbon casks.
After blending, the whisky rests in oak casks at 46% for up to six months, then is reduced to its final strength.
Tasting notes describe light grain, honey, citrus peel and shortbread on the nose. The palate is soft and creamy, with honey, toffee and baked apple. The finish is medium in length, clean and medium-dry, with toasted oak and a trace of peat smoke.
