Fary Lochan – Virgin Cask (50cl, 47.1%)

Fary Lochan Virgin Cask is a single cask special edition from the Fary Lochan distillery, bottled at 47.1%. It matured in one new American oak cask, filled on 5 May 2013 and emptied on 7 August 2019, so the whisky is 6 years and 3 months old. That makes it the oldest whisky the distillery has released so far. The cask gave 388 bottles of 50cl, and this is the summer variant without smoke. The nose offers vanilla, freshly cut grass, green apples, bourbon and a faint hint of mint. The palate is complex, oily and spicy, with coffee, orange peel, freshly ground white pepper, charred wood and green apple. The finish is long, with more cut grass and tart apples.
