Fercullen 18 Year Old is a single malt Irish whiskey from Powerscourt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was bought from Cooley distillery, and Powerscourt's current master distiller, Noel Sweeney, produced it while he worked there.
It was matured in bourbon casks for more than 18 years, and the long maturation brings a well-integrated oak character.
The nose offers honey, vanilla, sweet malt, spice, almonds, cinnamon, ripe fruit, cherry, plum and oak. The palate is full and clean, with creamy malt, vanilla, syrupy caramel, sweet cocoa and toasted oak. The finish is long, with sweet spice, nutmeg and malt.
