This is Vermut Super from Ferrero, a vermouth dating from the 1950s or 1960s, in a one litre bottle.
Vermouth is an aromatised wine. By law it must contain at least 75% wine, with a strength of between 14.5% and 22%, and it must include artemisia, the wormwood that gives the drink its name. It is the traditional base of cocktails such as the Martini, the Americano and the Negroni, and it can also be enjoyed neat.
