FEW Cold Cut Bourbon with Cold Brew Coffee (75cl, 46.5%)

FEW Cold Cut is a straight bourbon from FEW Spirits in Evanston, Illinois, bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It starts as cask-strength bourbon and is brought down to bottling strength with cold brew coffee from Chicago roaster Passion House rather than water. The mash bill is 70% corn, 20% rye and 10% malted barley, fermented with saison yeast. Proofing with coffee rather than blending it in means the whiskey remains a bourbon, not a flavoured spirit. The notes describe dark roasted coffee, cinnamon, clove, vanilla and toffee on the nose. The palate offers caramel sauce, warm corn and smoked paprika, with coffee building sip by sip, and the finish is very long and lightly sweet.
