FEW Immortal Rye Whiskey (46.5%)

Immortal Rye is a rye whiskey from FEW Spirits of Evanston, Illinois. It starts with the distillery's own cask strength rye, which is brought down to bottling strength with cold-extracted 8 Immortals oolong tea rather than plain water. It is bottled at 46.5% abv. The tea gives the whiskey a spicy character with subtle earthy notes that develop as it sits on the tongue. Tasting notes mention dried orange peel, poached pear, clove and cardamom, along with earthy cedar and a touch of chestnut.
