FEW Motor Oil is a collaboration between FEW Spirits of Evanston, Illinois, and the rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, bottled at 50.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It blends three whiskeys: FEW bourbon finished in rum barrels, FEW bourbon finished in vermouth barrels, and a mesquite-smoked wheat whiskey.
It was released on 1 July 2022 for the 21st anniversary of the band's debut album B.R.M.C. Founder and master distiller Paul Hletko and the band spent two years on blind tastings over video calls to settle the blend. A total of 1,800 bottles were made, with label art inspired by the band's logo.
The nose has mesquite smoke, grassy sweetness and herbal notes. The palate is sweet rum-barrel grass, bitter vermouth herbaceousness and heavy mesquite smoke. The finish is smoky and lingering.
