Filey Bay – Double Oak #2 (70cl)

Double Oak #2 is a bottling from Filey Bay, an English distillery that opened in 2016 and carries out every stage from field to bottle in and around its own site. It brings together ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak casks, balancing sweet caramel with oak spice. The nose offers banana fritters, buttered tea cakes, clotted cream and floral malt with toffee. On the palate, tropical dried fruits sit over buttery barley and soft vanilla, with toasted oak and cinnamon beneath. The finish is easy, with vanilla cream, cough drops and stone fruits.
