Finlaggan Old Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky from the island of Islay, bottled by the Vintage Malt Whisky Company. It takes its name from Loch Finlaggan, a historic site on the island, and is made from malted barley and matured in oak casks.
On the nose there is peat smoke and burnt wood, with maritime notes that are lightly saline and iodine-like, alongside apple, apricot, a little vanilla and soft spice. The palate is supple and balanced, with clear, smoky, slightly ashy peat, malt, honey and spice. The finish is long, carrying smoke and a hint of salt.
