Florio Marsala Secco Superiore 2016

A dry Marsala Superiore from Florio in Sicily, made from Grillo grapes picked by hand from mid-September. Bunches that have reached overripeness on the vine are chosen for their high sugar and polyphenol content. Fermentation takes place in concrete with continuous micro-oxygenation. The wine is then aged for five years in vats and casks of different sizes before bottling, and shows an amber colour. The nose is delicate, with light honey, acacia and vanilla. The palate is precise and well defined, led by the flavour of bread crust.
