Fort Hamilton Single Barrel Rye Whiskey (75cl)

This is a single barrel North-Eastern style rye from Fort Hamilton, made by Alex Clark Spirits in Brooklyn, New York. The mash contains no corn, only rye, malted barley, yeast and water. The rye is filled into heavily charred new American white oak at a low proof, which puts the emphasis on the grain rather than the barrel. It is aged on the Brooklyn waterfront, in a warehouse heated through winter, and is non-chill filtered. The name recalls August 1775, when Alexander Hamilton's Hearts of Oak militia seized British cannons in lower Manhattan to form America's first artillery company.
