Four Roses – 2017 Al Young 50th Anniversary Limited Edition (75cl)

A Kentucky straight bourbon from Four Roses, released in 2017 to mark 50 years of Al Young as Master Distiller. He joined the distillery in 1967. It is a one-time bottling at barrel strength, non-chill filtered, assembled from barrels of all 10 Four Roses bourbon recipes. Those recipes come from two mashbills combined with five yeast strains. The nose is sweet caramel with floral honeysuckle. On the palate, fresh peaches and apricots give way to fig and rich oak. The finish is long and clean, with a hint of mint.
