This is Four Roses Bourbon from Kentucky, in a 1 litre bottle. It is a blend of whiskies made from corn, rye and malted barley, matured in new charred American oak casks. Four Roses combines ten different bourbon recipes, which shape the character of the whiskey. The nose opens with honey and fruit, especially peach and apple, then moves to spice and wood with vanilla and nutmeg. The palate is soft yet rich, with caramel, gentle spice and a slight astringency from the wood. The finish is long, leaving a warm, spicy afterglow.
