Four Roses – Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

This is the original Four Roses bottling, known by its yellow label. It is a Kentucky straight bourbon at 40% ABV, aged for a minimum of five years. It marries all ten of the distillery's recipes: two mash bills, one of 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley and the other of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley, each made with five proprietary yeast strains. It was distilled in Lawrenceburg, and warehoused and bottled at Cox's Creek, Kentucky. The distillery describes a floral nose with gentle spice and honey, a palate of fresh pear and apple, and a smooth, long finish.
