Four Roses – OBSF (TS-71-6C) Single Barrel Private Selection 9 Year 9 Month Barrel Strength (75cl, 62.5%)

A Four Roses Visitor Center private selection: a single barrel of OBSF bourbon, chosen by Master Distiller Brent Elliott and bottled at barrel strength, 62.5% ABV (125 proof), after 9 years and 9 months in oak. It came from barrel 71-6C in Warehouse TS. OBSF uses the high-rye OB mashbill of 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley, with the herbal F yeast strain. Nothing was added after the barrel was emptied. The nose offers caramel, vanilla and dark brown sugar over rye spice, with a herbal, minty lift. The palate is brown sugar and dried fruit against seasoned oak, with herbal and mint notes. The finish is long and warming, with baking spice and toasted wood.
