This is a single barrel bourbon from the Four Roses distillery in Kentucky, a private selection bottled at a barrel strength of 59.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is also known as Chocolate Thorn.
The whiskey is 9 years and 1 month old and comes from the OESV recipe, which uses 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley. It was drawn from Warehouse RN.
The notes describe delicate fruit and caramel, with ripe cherries, honeyed oak and a little spice. The high corn content gives a creamy mouthfeel, and the rye adds spice.
