This Four Roses Private Selection is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, released for Father's Day 2018. It is barrel 59-2V from Warehouse PS, aged for 15 years and 7 months and bottled at barrel strength, 126.2 proof (63.1% ABV). It uses the OESV recipe: a mashbill of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley, with the V yeast strain. Four Roses describes that recipe as delicate, with pear and apricot balanced against corn and rye. The nose is rich caramel, mature oak and vanilla, with dark cherry, baked red fruit and honey. The palate brings brown sugar, baking spice, toasted oak and creamy vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with fruit, spice and seasoned oak.
