Four Roses Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Lawrenceburg, bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It is a mingling of four of the distillery's ten bourbon recipes: OBSK, OESK, OBSO and OESO. The recipes come from two mashbills, one with 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley and one with 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley, combined with five yeast strains.
The nose offers caramel and ripe red berries with vanilla, dark fruit and a firm rye note. The palate is smooth and creamy, with rye spice, plum, honey and nutmeg. The finish is long and mellow, with cinnamon and toasted oak.
