Four Roses Yellow Label is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It carries no age statement.
What sets it apart is the recipe. It is the only Four Roses expression that marries all ten of the distillery's bourbon recipes, which come from two mashbills and five yeast strains.
The nose is honey and poached pear with delicate floral notes and gentle spice. The palate is crisp, with sweet vanilla and caramel, then ripe apple, rye spice and a little pineapple and fennel. The finish is soft and of moderate length, with roasted oak, dry licorice, caraway, dark chocolate and espresso.
