Foursquare is a rum distillery owned by R.L. Seale & Co, a family company with a traceable history of rum making in Barbados dating back to 1820. The modern company dates to the 1920s, and in 1995 it opened the Foursquare distillery in an abandoned sugar factory in Saint Philip parish. Foursquare produces Single Blended rum, combining pot and column distillate before and after barrelling.
Introduced in 2008, the Exceptional Cask Selection is an exemplar of the finest rum the distillery can produce. Sagacity is the eleventh release and the second to feature Madeira cask maturation. It was distilled in 2007 and released in 2019, aged 12 years, and bottled at 48% ABV in a 700 ml bottle.
