Fox & Oden Double Oaked is a straight bourbon bottled at 49.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It starts from the brand's standard Straight Bourbon, a blend of 8 and 15 year old bourbons made from MGP's 21% and 36% rye mash bills, then spends a second maturation in a new charred oak barrel.
The brand takes its name from Oden, Michigan, and honours the pre-Prohibition blending and finishing skills of the distiller Joseph A. Magnus.
The official notes give cocoa, caramel and leather on the nose, and caramel, chocolate, pipe tobacco and baking spices on the palate, with a long, warming finish.
