Fox & Oden Straight Rye is a small batch, high-rye whiskey bottled at 47% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled in the United States and aged in new charred American oak barrels. The mash bill is mostly rye, with some corn and malted barley.
The brand belongs to the CraftCo portfolio of the Windquest Group in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It pays tribute to the pre-Prohibition blending of Joseph A. Magnus, set against Michigan's natural heritage.
Toffee and cocoa lead on the nose, with citrus, clove, black pepper and fresh herbs. The palate has cinnamon, peppercorn, citrus peel, toasted oak and orange zest. The finish is long and warming, with dry spice and lingering wood.
