François Peyrot Liqueur au Cognac Poire (70cl)

This is a pear liqueur made with Cognac, from François Peyrot, in a 70cl bottle. Williams pears are picked at the end of October, when fully ripe, and macerated in a spirit to give a very concentrated pear juice. The natural pear aroma is then blended with Cognac from 1er Cru Grande Champagne and matured for two years in white oak casks. It is a deep, luminous amber. The nose joins the typical aromas of Cognac with the very ripe fruit of Williams pears, and the palate follows as a harmonious blend of the two. It works as a digestif, or served very cold with two parts of Champagne as an aperitif.
