Frank August 7 Year Single Barrel Bourbon

This is a seven-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Frank August, bottled at barrel proof without chill filtration. The example described here is 123.6 proof, and strength varies from one barrel to the next. The nose brings caramelised brown sugar, toasted oak, cracked pepper and orange peel. On the palate there is vanilla bean, charred oak, honeycomb and baking spice. The finish is warm and long, with cinnamon and dark cherry.
