Frank August Case Study: 06 Legacy Reserve 6 Barrel Batch (54.6%)

Case Study No. 06 Legacy Reserve is the sixth release in the Frank August Case Study series, which here explores the idea of legacy. It is a Kentucky straight bourbon blended from six barrels: two each of 8, 9 and 10 year old bourbon, from three distilleries. It is a limited small batch release, bottled at 109.24 proof (54.62%). The appearance is deep amber with copper undertones. The nose offers vanilla bean, honeycomb and caramelised pear, with seasoned oak and baking spice. The palate has butterscotch, roasted pecan, dark toffee and a hint of orange zest. The finish is long, with toasted sugar, dried cherry and charred oak.
