Frank August Case Study: 06 Legacy Reserve is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon, blended from six barrels of 8, 9 and 10-year-old bourbon. It was distilled and bottled in Kentucky, and 984 bottles were filled.
It is bottled at cask strength, 54.62% ABV (109.24 proof), and is non-chill-filtered. It belongs to the Case Study series from Frank August.
The nose offers dark caramel, toasted oak, pipe tobacco and a hint of dried fig. On the palate come vanilla bean, nutmeg, charred oak and a little leather, followed by a long, warming finish of spice and honeyed nuts.
