Frank August Case Study: 07 French Connection is a Kentucky bourbon and rye blend bottled at 53.7% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the seventh release in the Case Study experimental series from Frank August of Bardstown. The bourbons and ryes were finished separately in Calvados, Martinique rhum agricole and Caribbean rum casks, then vatted together. The name points to those French and Francophone cask types rather than French oak, and the 107.4 proof nods to 4 July 1884, the year France gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States. It comes from a batch of seven barrels. The nose is baked apple, pear compote and toasted coconut. The palate brings raw sugar, vanilla cream and molasses, and the long finish has dried tropical fruit, cinnamon and black pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
