Frank August Case Study 07, called French Connection, is a blend of Kentucky straight bourbon and rye whiskies in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 107.4 proof. It is the seventh release in the Case Study series, made in nine batches of seven barrels each.
The whiskey is finished in three cask types in turn: Calvados, Martinique Rhum Agricole and Caribbean rum. The proof recalls 4 July 1884, the day France gave the United States the Statue of Liberty.
The finishing casks bring French orchard fruit, the grassy freshness of agricole and dark molasses, set against a high-proof Kentucky base with a peppery rye backbone.
