Frank August Case Study: 07 French Connection is a blend of Kentucky straight bourbon and rye whiskeys, bottled at 107.4 proof (53.7% ABV) in a 75cl bottle. It is the seventh release in the Case Study series from Frank August of Lexington, Kentucky.
This is a 7-barrel batch, finished in three types of cask: Calvados, Martinique rhum and Caribbean rum barrels. The name draws on the historical relationship between France and the United States.
Baked apple, pear compote and toasted coconut mark the nose. Raw sugar, vanilla cream, molasses, spiced rum and baked pineapple follow on the palate. The finish is long, with brown sugar, dried tropical fruit, soft oak and rye spice.
