Frank August Case Study: Mizunara Cask Bourbon Batch 1

This is Batch 1 of Frank August's Case Study series, a bourbon aged in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It pairs a Kentucky bourbon heritage with a Japanese oak, and it is a limited release. In the glass it is a rich amber with golden highlights. The nose brings toasted coconut, sandalwood and sweet vanilla from the Mizunara oak. The palate shows honeyed caramel, cinnamon spice and roasted almond. The finish is long and warming, with oak, incense and white pepper.
