Frank August Legacy Reserve Case Study: 06 is a Kentucky bourbon blended from six barrels, in a 750ml bottle.
Two hand-selected barrels were taken from each of three Kentucky distilleries, and the bourbons are 8, 9 and 10 years old. The colour is rich amber with copper undertones.
The nose offers vanilla bean, honeycomb and caramelised pear with seasoned oak, and baking spices, candied fruit and brown sugar emerge with time. On the palate come butterscotch, dark toffee, baking spice, roasted pecan and a hint of orange zest. The finish is long, with toasted sugar, charred oak and dried cherry.
