This is a 7 year old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Frank August, in a 750ml bottle. It is bottled at cask strength, with proofs between 114.6 and 125.4, and the colour is a deep auburn.
The nose opens with baking spices, oak and fruit, followed by vanilla and cacao. On the palate the baking spices grow stronger, with cinnamon first and rye spice following, set against sweet vanilla and caramel.
The finish is long and balanced, with baking spices, hints of black cherry and cacao, and subtle oak and vanilla.
