Freeland Spirits – Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

Freeland Spirits Bourbon Whiskey is a bourbon from the Portland, Oregon distillery, in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is made from a mash of 70% corn, 20% rye and 10% malted barley. The bourbon ages in charred American oak and then takes a final rest in Elk Cove Pinot Noir barrels. Freeland was founded in 2017 and named for the founder's grandmother, and Molly Troupe is its master distiller. The producer's notes describe a rich mahogany colour and a nose of toffee and marmalade with smoked pecan and clove. The palate is soft caramel and baked berries with vanilla bean, cocoa and spice, and the finish is long and velvety.
