Freeland Spirits Cask Strength Straight Bourbon is bottled at 112 proof, in a 75cl bottle. It is a tribute to "Meemaw" Freeland, the namesake of Freeland Spirits and an inspiration to its founder, Jill Kuehler.
The high rye in the mash bill brings spice to the fore, and the bourbon is given a final rest in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels.
The nose is rich vanilla, caramel and dark cocoa. Vanilla and caramel lead the palate, with hints of fine leather and juicy cherry. The finish starts with a quick punch of proof, then turns velvet smooth and lingers.
