Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut is a straight bourbon from Frey Ranch in Fallon, Nevada, bottled without proofing down and not chill-filtered. The grain is grown, milled and distilled on the family farm, from a mash bill of 66.6% dent corn, 12% two-row barley, 11.4% winter rye and 10% winter wheat. The whiskey spends an average of five years in new charred American oak. The first batch came out at 62.15% ABV, and the strength varies from batch to batch. Tasting notes describe a nose of caramelised brulée, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate brings birthday cake frosting, glazed butter cake, cloves, orange creamsicle and dried stone fruit, and the finish carries a subtle hint of smoke and black cherry.
