FUK 3 Year Old is a single grain Japanese whisky from Benitome Shuzo in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is aged three years in oak and bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is distilled from barley rather than rice, which is unusual for Japanese grain whisky, and is made with water from the Chikugo River. The name is the airport code for Fukuoka International Airport, and the whisky is described as a traveller's expression.
The style is light and clean, with soft barley sweetness, vanilla and light oak on the palate, a gentle cereal character and a smooth finish.
