Fundador Solera Reserva is a Brandy de Jerez from Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, bottled at 36% ABV. It is made by the house of Pedro Domecq from Airén and Palomino wines, and Fundador was among the first brands marketed as Brandy de Jerez, in 1874.
The brandy ages for a minimum of three years in the solera and criadera system, in 500-litre American oak casks previously seasoned with sherry.
The nose has ripe grapes, vanilla, toasted wood, dried apricot and pepper. The palate is smooth, balanced and full-bodied, with oak, raisins, sherry sweetness, vanilla custard and baked apple, leading to a medium-length, rounded finish that is gently sweet and spicy.
