Fuyu Mizunara is a blended Japanese whisky in a 750ml bottle at 45% ABV. It combines malt and grain whisky in equal parts, from distilleries on Honshu island.
The blend was aged for about three years in American white oak, then finished for roughly six months in Mizunara, a Japanese oak. The run was about 6,000 bottles.
The nose brings honey, apricot and caramel with a hint of sandalwood-like oak. The palate is silky, with coconut, caramel, cooked fruit and a thread of smoke, and the finish is jammy and long.
