G'Vine Floraison (40%)

G'Vine Floraison is a French gin from the Cognac area, made on a base of grapes rather than the wheat used for most gins. The spirit comes mainly from Ugni Blanc with a little Chardonnay, distilled to 96.4% and then macerated with nine herbs and spices, including green vine flowers. The name refers to the flowering of the vine, known in French as floraison. A juniper distillate, a fresh herbal distillate and a spiced distillate are made separately, blended with the vine flower distillate and distilled together. At 40% it is elegant and light, with a green floral note and a lively bite. It works in a gin and tonic or in cocktails such as the French 75.
