A five-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Laird & Company, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl-class 750ml bottle.
It is aged in barrels with a Char #3 interior, selected for the extra time in wood. The mashbill is 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, made by the sour mash process. The whiskey is charcoal and chill filtered before bottling.
The nose offers sugar and caramel, charred oak and a biscuity maltiness. The palate is soft, with vanilla and brown sugar, then toasted oak and baking spice. The finish is warm, with charred oak, caramel and a touch of rye spice.
