Gancia Vermouth Amaro (1L, 16.8%)

This is a Gancia vermouth amaro in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 16.8% vol. and dating from the 1960s. Vermouth is an aromatised wine, flavoured with botanicals including artemisia, the wormwood that gave the style its name. Legally it must contain at least 75% wine and sit between 14.5% and 22% alcohol, a range this bottle falls within. It is traditionally the base of cocktails such as the Martini, the Americano and the Negroni, and it can also be enjoyed on its own.
