Garavogue 20 Year Old is an Irish single malt from Hawk's Rock Distillery in County Sligo, released as a limited edition and bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It was designed by Master Blender Helen Mulholland.
The spirit is double-distilled and spent 14 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It then had at least six more years in Muscat, Sauternes, Pedro Ximenez sherry and Barbadian rum casks. It is natural colour and not chill-filtered.
The nose brings vanilla, warm peach and spun sugar, with floral and raisin notes. The palate has buttery ripe apple, fresh citrus and sweet vanilla, with oak spice and rum warmth. The finish is long, with fruit sweetness and gentle spice.
